How We Work

What you can expect from us...

Step-by-Step

  1. Have a look - peruse our Gallery for ideas, or look across the Web and magazines for something you’d like built.
  2. Get in touch – we’ll arrange a short consultation where we’ll take measurements and discuss your ideas.  We will then send you a no obligation quote by letter.  This service is completely free of charge.
  3. Acceptance – if you are happy with the price we will arrange a second visit to take final measurements and discuss finishing and designs.  We will agree an installation date and begin manufacturing your project at our workshop.
  4. Optional: Preliminary work – should you require their services, our trusted and qualified plumbers and electricians will undertake preparatory work for your project.
  5. Installation – we will arrive promptly and smartly at the pre-agreed time to begin installation.  All flooring will be protected with dust-sheets and any furniture covered with sheeting to prevent excess dust contamination.
  6. Completion – we insist that you are present to approve our work before we leave.  In this way we can answer any questions you may have and advise you on proper function and maintenance.
  7. Cleaning – we will leave your home as clean as when we arrived, including the vacuuming of floors and the dusting of surfaces.
  8. Optional: Finishing – Our carpet fitters and decorators will arrive to complete your project.  Their fees will be included in the price you pay us.
  9. After-sales care – we aim for 100% satisfaction.  Should you have any follow-up problems we will be happy to help to rectify them.

Our Materials

We work in a range of materials and call upon numerous trusted suppliers.  We can finish your project in paint, stain, undercoat or varnish.  If you have a particular colour you would like matched we can source a high-quality product with which to finish the work.

Should you have a particular wood in mind we can source and work with it.  We work in solid oak, maple, cedar, larch, mahogany and all manner of veneered plywoods – the options are virtually endless.

We have some restrictions though – we limit the use of MDF to a minimum owing to its lower durability and strength when compared to wood.  We also only use ethically sourced and certified timber from responsibly felled sources.  All of our wood is supplied by FSC chain of custody certified merchants (please see http://www.fsc-uk.org).

All our metalwork and fixings are of the highest quality.  All doors (e.g. on wardrobes and cupboards) feature hinges that allow them to be removed for finishing and then their accurate re-hanging.  We can call on suppliers form as far afield as Germany to bring you the quality fittings and fixtures that your bespoke project demands.  We do, however, ask you to provide doorknobs!  Our experience has shown us that these are personal items that are best purchased by you.  We will, of course, fit them for free and recommend trusted suppliers in your area.
